Rakhi getting engaged, not tying knot
There were numerous reports that Rakhi Ka Swayamvar was nothing but a fake reality show and Rakhi Sawant won't tie knot with anyone. Now it seems the darker secret of the NDTV Imagine show will be revealed in the final episode when Rakhi will walk out 'single and ready to mingle'. The channel certainly has managed to gain TRP ratings making a mockery of the sacred institution of marriage. For the audience there will be an engagement most likely with NRI Gujarati Elesh Parujanwala.
In an interview Rakhi clarified that she wasn't tying the knot with any of the contestants but just getting engaged. She said that there won't be any saat pheres, maang mein sindoor or wearing a mangalsutra now. Rakhi added that it was more of an engagement with the guy whom she has to know well to take the relationship further. The drama queen said she wanted to has date her lover boy off camera after dating him in front of the camera.
This revelation from the television drama queen won't surprise most of her fans watching the show. Only a handful might have fallen for the bait that Rakhi would actually tie the knot. Although Elesh is the strongest contestant among all, Manas Katyal or Chittiz Jain also have a fair chance to be the Rakhi's next 'bodyguard'. It may be recalled that Rakhi had picked up Abhishek Awasthi from another reality show. Well this seems to be another Abhishek in making!
I’m not marrying now: Rakhi Sawant
A local court in Jaipur has asked the cops to register an FIR against six people, including you, for alleged breach of copyright for lifting the A still of Rakhi Sawant’s mehndi to be telecast soon More Pics
concept of Rakhi Ka Swayamwar from the portal of a Pink City-based struggling writer, Gaurav Tiwari...
These are all false allegations. The show, Rakhi Ka Swayamwar on NDTV Imagine, is immensely popular and that’s why people want to use its popularity to their own advantage. Tell me one thing: Was this Gaurav guy sleeping all this while? Rakhi Sawant is a brand name and it is my Swayamwar, my concept. If it was Shah Rukh Khan’s swayamwar or Kareena Kapoor’s swayamwar, then too the shows would have had nothing to do with Gaurav Tiwari’s concept.
Is your lawyer looking into the issues?
I wouldn’t like to comment on it. Such petty things do not bother me.
Could it be just another publicity gimmick?
It is definitely not the case.
Coming back to the show, you have taken marriage to the levels of reality TV. How does it feel?
It was a very hard decision. I’ve tried to create history. But the concept of swayamwar traces its roots to Indian mythology. Didn’t Sita have a swayamwar? I don’t think I’ve done any wrong. There should be more such swayamwars.
So, you are getting hitched on August 2?
Let me clarify, I’m not getting married, now. I’m selecting someone from the show to be my life partner. It’s more of an engagement. So far, I’ve dated the contestants on camera. Now, I’ll date the man I select off camera. I need to know the person well and I can’t gamble with my life for the sake of entertainment. There will be no saat pheres, maang mein sindoor or wearing a mangalsutra just yet. If after knowing the person well, I feel that he’s my Prince Charming, I’ll tie the knot.
It’s news that you are going to select Gujarati NRI, Elesh Parujanwala...
You never know what’s going on in my mind. Elesh is a very nice boy, so are the other two finalists. But my hero is Jesus and it’s He who’ll decide who I’m going to select.
Many feel that the show is rigged...
Media’s circulating wrong information. Main ek Hindustani nari hoon aur yeh mere zindagi ka sawaal hai. Can I rig my destiny?
So, Abhishek Awasthi is a closed chapter now?
You bet, it is. I wouldn’t like to talk about my past at a time when my future is going to get decided.
Is your caller tune, Ab hum ho gaye pardesi, meant to suit your current mental frame?
Absolutely. I got a lot of Bollywood actors to perform to the number for my sangeet. I need all your prayers, now that my Swayamwar’s coming to a close.
Rakhi to wear 1 cr jewellery at engagement
Just when we thought that Rakhi Sawant's show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar was nothing but a fake reality show and that she wouldn't tie the knot with anyone, came the news that the actress will be getting engaged to one of the contestants on August 2 at The Leela Kempinski hotel in Andheri, Mumbai.
But the meatier gossip is that Rakhi will be donning wedding jewellery worth Rs 1 crore! Her diamond studded necklace will itself cost Rs 50 lakh. The jewellery will be designed by Farah Ali Khan, while Neeta Lulla will design Rakhi's bridal trousseau.
And oh, NDTV Imagine the channel will be sweet enough to play the maikawallahs. All are invited!
NDTV Imagine sees no obstacle to Rakhi's wedding
Samir Nair, CEO of NDTV Imagine, says that the police complaint filed against item girl Rakhi Sawant and five others linked to the reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar for infringement of copyright won't affect the live telecast of the wedding on Sunday.
"We're telecasting the marriage deferred-live (minutes after actual shooting) and we don't anticipate any trouble. This guy from Jaipur [Gaurav Tiwari] filed a case against us in a district court. They passed an order against him. Then he moved to the high court. His case was dismissed from there," Nair said.
"Now he has filed a criminal case against us. Our legal team is looking into it as we speak. Strange that the case has gone from civil to criminal. This guy runs a portal and claims he owns the word 'swayamvar'. It's like me claiming I own the word Ramayan or Mahabharat. There's shaadi.com. So we can't do a soap with the word shaadi?"
The show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, through which Rakhi decided to find her life partner, is on its last leg now. She will be tying the knot with her chosen groom on Sunday in the presence of family, friends as well as officials from the channel.
FIR not to effect Rakhi's swyamvar
Bosses at NDTV Imagine made it clear that FIR filed against the show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar won't affect the telecasting of the marriage oops! engagement. An FIR was filed against Rakhi Sawant and five others violation of Copyright Act. Gaurav Tiwari the owner of the portal swayamvar.com had lodged a complaint accusing the channel of forgery claiming he holds the copyright of the word Swayamvar since 2008.
Samir Nair, CEO of NDTV Imagine that the case has no merit and was dismissed by a lower court upon which Gaurav Tiwari had filed a criminal case against them. He said it was absurd to think that someone would own copyright over such words. He said that channel would stand by all the people against whom the complaint was filed and there were no issues with the telecast of the show.
Ontario man is India's newest reality TV star
Elesh Parujanwala grew up in Ontario and speaks little Hindi, but he has become one of India's biggest television stars, thanks to his appearance on a reality dating show.
Parujanwala is a contestant on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, a program on which Bollywood bombshell Rakhi Sawant is to choose a husband.
The 30-year-old from Markham, Ont., just north of Toronto, is one of three finalists, whittled down from more than 12,000 contenders.
Sawant will select her mate Sunday night in front of a live television audience.
Parujanwala, known to viewers as "The Canadian," is considered the favourite.
He had moved to Mumbai to establish a film school, but noticed the advertisements for India's version of "The Bachelorette."
The hopeful contestants wooed the glamorous star with flowers -- Parujanwala gave her a Canada T-shirt -- while the lucky finalists got to introduce her to their families.
Parujanwala introduced Sawant to his parents via video conference. They have since flown to Mumbai for the finale.
While it was expected that Sawant and her beloved would marry on live television, she told The Times of India Thursday that the finale will mark the start of an engagement.
"So far, I've dated the contestants on camera," she said. "Now, I'll date the man I select off camera. I need to know the person well and I can't gamble with my life for the sake of entertainment."
"If after knowing the person well, I feel that he's my Prince Charming, I'll tie the knot."
Parujanwala has declared he will move to Mumbai permanently, just in case.

Marriage made in heaven, or on TV? Rakhi decides on Sunday
Will she? Won't she? Rakhi Sawant moved from being an outspoken item girl to a coy bride, and now the question whether she will actually get married through her televised swayamvar has middle-class India in a thrall.
The 'wedding' is slated for Sunday on her show Rakhi ka Swayamvar -- which saw Rakhi choosing the most suitable groom from a list of 16 in 25 episodes -- and excitement is peaking.
"It has to be the Canadian guy", She will walk out without marrying", "There will be a wild card entry", "The contestants would be asked to choose between money and Rakhi", "Who cares?", are just some of the random thoughts and queries of the many viewers that NDTV Imagine added after the reality show began on June 29.
Dressed in Indian finery and suitably demure, Rakhi shortlisted five grooms and even went to their homes to get to know the families. As the feisty-bit actress who hit the limelight with her outrageous statements, not to forget the kissing controversy with singer Mika, played the ideal Indian 'bahu', viewers happily tuned in every weeknight.
On Sunday, the speculation will come to an end when Rakhi announces whom she will marry. And everybody has a view.
"It's likely that the show is a farce, because most of the shows that generate huge publicity are planned for that purpose. Maybe she will marry him for the show, with a pre-nuptial agreement and then annul the marriage, unless the chosen one is rich enough to stay with," said Jaya Kumar Mathur, a housewife.
There are others who did not share Jaya's cynicism and said Rakhi could actually be looking for true love.
According to Saniya Mehta, for instance, it is quite possible she will settle down with one of the final three contenders, Toronto-based Gujarati boy Elesh Parujanwala, young aspirant Manas Katyal and businessman Chhitiz Jain, both of whom stay in New Delhi.
"But unless the groom shifts to Mumbai, which is Rakhi's workplace, her life would not be smooth after the show. She should take her decision carefully," said Mehta, who feels Parujanwala is the best suitor for the item girl.
Channel officials are equally clueless.
"It would be a big decision for Rakhi. There is new speculation every day about the climax of the show, but even we can't tell anything as of now. Ultimately, what will happen on Sunday will be entirely Rakhi's call," Nikhil Madhok, vice president (marketing and communications) of NDTV Imagine, said.
"If she says she wants to marry the same day, we are all set with the preparations. If not, it's for her to decide because it's her life," he added.
The preparations are grand. Whatever the decision, Rakhi will be dressed in a Neeta Lulla creation and wear jewellery designed by Farah Ali Khan, including a necklace worth Rs.3 million.
Of course, like any other grand Indian wedding, a multi-cuisine buffet dinner will be laid out. The menu, planned by Rakhi herself, will include Gujarati, Punjabi and Maharashtrian delicacies.
Is Rakhi Ka Swayamvar a spinoff of The Bachelorette?
MUMBAI: As Rakhi Ka Swayamvar on NDTV Imagine comes to a closure this weekend, Businessofcinema.com, takes a look at the similarity between the show and ABC Television Network's popular reality show The Bachelorette, which airs in the US.
Pertinent to note here is that recently, there was a court case and then a criminal case filed against the show by a person who runs a swayamvar website. A case of forgery and violation of Copyright Act was filed. However, the District Court passed a detailed interim order on the merits of the case and refused to grant him any relief. Later an appeal was also filed in the High Court but to no avail.
Coming to The Bachelorette… the show premiered in January 2003 and is hosted by Chris Harrison. In the first season it featured Trista Reha - a physical therapist who chose Ryan Sutter from the 25 suitors. The two tied the knot in December 2003 and are happily married. They have two children, Maxwell and Blakesley.
Currently The Bachelorette is in its fifth season with Jallian Harris, a restaurant interior designer who successfully supervising projects in both Canada and the US. The fifth season premiered on ABC Television Network on 18 May, 2009. Once again eligible men arrived from all over the country to try and win her heart. Jillian will be the first person in the history The Bachelorette to have 30 suitors to select from.
Besides the choice of suitors, there are a lot of similarities between The Bachelorette and our very own Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. In The Bachelorette, the final four prospective grooms had to perform tasks and home visits. Similarly in Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, the contestants had to perform tasks and Rakhi visited the homes of the final four contestants.
However, speaking to Businessofcinema.com, NDTV Imagine executive vice-president content Shailaja Kejriwal said that she was unaware of The Bachelorette and its similarity to Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. She said, "I have never heard of it. It was the director who along with Rakhi approached us with the idea and we thought it was interesting and that's how we went ahead with it."
According to Kejriwal, the show has worked for the channel and the TRPs so far have been good. "Whenever something different and unique is done, it changes the image of the brand so yes the show has helped us in that sense," says Kejriwal.
Since Rakhi Ka Swayamvar is coming to an end now and everyone is waiting for the grand finale, Kejriwal is hoping for TRPs above 3.5. She says, "Right now all of us are busy with the swayamvar, it's like getting your daughter married!"
The only difference between The Bachelorette and Rakhi Ka Swayamvar is that every week during eliminations, the selected grooms in The Bachelorette get a rose pinned on their jackets whereas in Rakhi Ka Swayamvar the selected grooms get a box of sweets.
The Bachelorette is in its fifth season now and going by the history of the show in the US, only the first season saw the couple getting married happily while the rest of the three seasons the couples split. Season two saw Meredith Phillips choose Ian Mckee. They were engaged but ended there relationship in February 2005. Season three had Jennifer Schefft, a publicist, who rejected all the suitors. Jennifer finally chose Jerry Ferris - an art gallery director, over fellow finalist John Paul Merritt in a first live final rose ceremony. However, when Jerry proposed to Jennifer, she rejected his proposal stating that there was no chemistry between them. After last airing on 28 February, 2005, the series returned to ABC with its fourth season during spring 2008 after a hiatus of three years. DeAnna Pappas, a real estate broker chose Jesse Csincsak from the 30 suitors. Their wedding was set for May 9, 2009 but they broke up in November 2008. The result of the fifth season is awaited.
We sure hope that Rakhi Ka Swayamvar also sees Rakhi finally settling down with the man of her choice and hope they live happily ever after!

Complaint against Rakhi Sawant, NDTV Imagine to defend
Mumbai, July 29 (IANS) A police complaint has been filed against item girl Rakhi Sawant and five others for infringement of copyright regarding NDTV's reality show 'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar'. The channel has promised to defend the actress as well as itself.
Gaurav Tiwari, the Jaipur-based owner of the web portal swayamvar.com, Tuesday filed a complaint against Rakhi, actor Ravi Kissen and a top official of the channel apart from others, for allegedly stealing the concept of a marriage-based TV reality show for 'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar' from his portal.
An official statement by the channel says Tiwari had earlier filed a suit against them in a district court in Jaipur but the court refused to grant him any relief.
He appealed against the order in the High Court, which also refused to grant him any interim relief, including his demand that the show not be telecast, according to the channel.
'Now that there are press reports of him having filed a criminal complaint, we shall make the necessary enquiries, and proceed to defend the matter as may be advised to us,' said the statement from the channel.
'It is not unusual in our industry for litigation around successful shows -- there have been several instances of frivolous litigations filed across the country around movies and television programmers to impact their launch or telecast, resulting in press publicity for the complainant.
'Our position is that everything involving the creation and ownership of the show is legally above board, and we believe that the allegations are false and malicious and intended to defame our company,' added the statement.
The show 'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar', through which Rakhi decided to find her life partner, is in its last leg now.
She will be tying the knot with her chosen groom Sunday in the presence of family, friends as well as officials from the channel.

Rakhi Sawant will get wed on August 2 in front of a live audience
Rakhi Sawant has made up her mind. The item girl is all set to tie the knot with the NRI Gujarati boy Elesh Parujanwala and end her swayamvar.
A sources reveals that Rakhi's decision to commit to the shaadi was last minute, "She asked the channel heads options to have an exit strategy. However, after long meetings with the producers and channel officials, she decided to go ahead to the wedding, and honour her contract obligations."
Describing the elaborate wedding plans, an insider says, "Right now, they are preparing for the sangeet and mehendi shoot. The wedding will take place on August 2 at a suburban hotel and will be broadcast live on television.
Rakhi will wear a Neeta Lulla ensemble while Elesh still has to decide what he will wear. Rakhi's mom and her family will be present during the shaadi as well. There are also plans to invite a couple of some Bollywood celebrities to the occasion."
After the wedding, Rakhi plans to travel to Toronto to meet Elesh's family. "She has already got her Canadian visa and will be flying out with the groom after the shaadi. Elesh has already expressed an interest in purchasing property in Mumbai and settling here post marriage." Happy ending? We'll see.
Rumour has it
Another source maintains, "There will be no shaadi. In the twist, the dulha raja chosen by Rakhi will be given a choice of getting married to Rakhi, or accepting a cash booty and walking away. It is believed that Elesh will opt for the cash. It has all been decided. And Rakhi will walk away with the sympathy."
Bride-to-be Rakhi Sawant faces FIR for cheating
A local court on Tuesday ordered filing of case of forgery and violation of Copy Right Act against item girl and TV personality Rakhi Sawant and six others.
The Judicial Magistrate Jaipur ordered the filing of FIR for allegedly using the script and the word Swayamvar in a popular TV reality show in an unauthorised manner, on a complaint filed by one Gaurav Tiwari.
The complainant told the court that he had the copyright of the script and the word Swayamvar in 2008 and also showed it to a private channel.
However, later the script was used in the reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar in an unauthorised way, the complainant alleged.
Rakhi Sawant seeks sympathy
Rakhi Sawant seeks sympathy
Mumbai: It appears that Rakhi Sawant is not going to marry anybody in her own swayamvar. Though she has decided to marry Elesh Parujanwala, but then again she is known to change her mind every two hours.
Her show ‘Rakhi ka Swayamvar' is appearing like a sad soap opera where all she talks about is her life before stardom. She blames her mother for not letting her marry. Rakhi claims to have sacrificed a lot for her brother and sisters. She says that she is a money producing machine for her family!! It seems that the drama is full on and it is an attempt to gain sympathy from people.
The meaning of swayamvar is all lost on Rakhi Sawant. It remains to be seen whom she gets married to on August 2.
Court orders FIR against Rakhi, five others
Jaipur, July 28 (PTI) A local court today asked the police to register an FIR against six persons including item girl Rakhi Sawant, actor Ravi Kishan and a top official of a leading channel for allegedly stealing the concept of a marriage-based TV reality show from a private portal. Judicial Magistrate No 27 Shilpa Sameer directed the Karni Nagar police station in the city to register an FIR against the six including Sawant for alleged breach of copyright by lifting the concept of Swayamvar from the portal of a Pink City-based ''struggling'' writer Gaurav Tiwari.
Besides Sawant and Kishan the FIR is to be lodged against Manging Director of NDTV Imagine Gaurav Gandhi, the Executive Director of the show ''Rakhee Ka Swayamvar'' and two others for their participation in the programme. In his complaint filed under section 156 (3) of the CrPC, Tiwari alleged that his concept of marriages through swayamvar was his intellectual property and copyrighted in the year 2008 itself but the TV channel had stolen the idea and concept from his portal Swayamvar.
com and started the show. The court directed the police to register an FIR in connection with the complaint and investigate it.
Can Rakhi be worthy wife to contestants?
Everyone knows the story of Gandhari in 'Mahabharatha'. Gandhari was married to King Dhritarashtra without doing any keen observation into his personality. But she blindfolded herself to equate with him when she came to know that he was a blind man. It shows her sacrifice for herhusband. Do you think why I am talking about Gandhari?
Because once Rakhi Sawant said that she would not like to marry anyone blindfolded like Gandhari on the show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar in NDTV Imagine. Ok, physically, Rakhi is not a blind person. But she seems to be blind intellectually. If you look at her past life and her present demands, you will understand it.
Rakhi Sawant is far away from the fundamentals of love and marriage, which are based on sacrifice. So what she is up to? Rakhi has always tried to get mileage in 'publicity' through whatever has happened with her. When Mika kissed her what she reacted was that she was startled. She had the same expression when Luv had kissed her first time. She did not have the guts to retaliate to Mika.
But Rakhi Sawant kicked a contestant out of the show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar in NDTV Imagine, when he kissed her that too on one of the jewelry on her forehead. She even did this due to pressure by other contestants. What about the kisses she showered on Manmohan and other contestants during parties on the show?
Rakhi complained before the show host Ram Kapoor that Manmohan Tiwari did not let her meet his girlfriend, when she visited his city. Manmohan argued, “I had an affair with Anjali, but we parted our ways due to some reason. Don’t pull her name now and make it a big issue, because you had also affairs in the past. I’ve never asked about them. I’ve never asked you about Abhishek Awasti,” he said. She could not utter a word in reply.
Moreover, Manas Katyal’s family was little bit worried about her ‘Item Tag’. He suggested her to take out her ‘Item Tag’ in order to save her public image. She argued him, “Doing item numbers is my profession, which I don’t want to quit. It is not real life. Let it be aside. Now I’m ready to marry you. Will you accept me as your wife or not?" This shows her aggressive nature. She can do whatever she wants, but she does not allow her would be hubby to do that.
Most of the contestants belong to decent families and many of them are younger than her. They are also intellectual blinds. They treated her intimacy with Mika, Luv and others as a part of her profession. But they objected a co-contestant when he kissed her during a party.
Manmohan has won his way out of this nonsense. His family has taught a well deserved lesson to Rakhi, “You reap what you sow.” The intentions of both Manmohan and Rakhi in performing on the show were to get publicity, but Rakhi is frustrated by Manmohan’s capacity which is beyond her grab.
Rakhi Sawant - A Popularity hungry lady
She is the most desperate girl who wants to grab everyone’s attention. For that, she can go to any limit. But whatever it is, our ‘attention seeker’ queen Rakhi Sawant has succeeded in that to a limit. Her latest ‘Swayamvar’ drama is catching everyone’s eyes. Few watch it to laugh while others watch it to see if it’s real.
Nothing is big for Rakhi when it comes to drama act. She’s been criticized, mocked but. By her brashness which this generation calls openness in all its meaning, she has been successful in making a place for herself in the show world.
Rakhi Sawant’s name mostly raises eyebrows. Not because she is an item girl, but because she has tried her level best to become an item of derision for people who regard grace and humility as two necessary qualities of a good artist.

| Item girl Rakhi Sawant |
Rakhi knows how to remain in news. She dances with her boy friend for a competition and when does not get to the top, weeps and protests like nobody else in any reality show. Somebody remarked that Rakhi’s antics in such situations are better than her dance numbers.
In shortest and barest of clothes on her body, (beautified by surgery) she has climbed the slippery ladder to popularity amongst a certain class of viewers. Rakhi has danced, not that anybody dances like her, but when she talks in her hoarse voice, giving sideways glances, and when she is throwing slush at her adversaries, she surely becomes an item for the ‘Sansani’ hungry viewers.
Sophistication on the T.V. Shows is a thing of the past. If there is abusive language or uncalled for reference to one’s dark background, an ayah as mother and a security guard as father, shielded hints to the wolves who tried to molest her and her courage in the face of all these hurdles, the viewers along with one of the suitor’s are all agog with curiosity to know more. With mouth watering eagerness they wait for Rakhi Sawant to disclose whether she has had physical relationship with her ‘live in partner’ Abhishek or whether he still loves her.
Now Rakhi has decided to get married and that too through a ‘Swayamvar’ like the princess of yore. The only difference is her suitors will have to face a volley of questions by her so called brothers and friends. She would also like to go on a date with all of them one by one right in the eyes of the cameras and then give her comment.

| Rakhi Sawant in Rakhi ka Swayamwar |
When she says for a suitor that she was so close to him and still he did not take advantage of the situation you fell like laughing. The fellow is acting a scene in front of the camera. And knows his limitations, the viewers relish the scenes when two other suitors take Rakhi to a dream date and she looks most coy and tries to blush as well. Then Rakhi has quite clearly shown her preference for a suitor by the name “Manmohan”, who is ready to bring down the sky to this “Baby” in the garb of an innocent woman.
There is a twist in the story at the last moment, just like in the movies, the brother finds out about Manmohan’s previous beloved and Oh, Rakhi is so miserable she can’t hold back her tears. But wait, there are so many others ready to wipe off her precious tears and the Swayamvar goes on.
Will she marry one of them or go back to her lonely flat to get ready for another item song, we do not know. Most of the viewers have the opinion that she is not going to marry any of the suitors, because the Swayamvar is a show and not a reality. It is reported that all those who were eliminated used foul language for the lady and confessed that they entered the show just to have fun.
It has become a fashion to perform everything in front of applauding audience. Jade Guddy breathed her last while the whole world watched on the TV. Rakhi wants to select her husband and tie the knot with the entire world as Barati.
The next step, I am afraid would be when a popularity hungry lady would want to deliver a child in full view of a world of enthralled spectators. Coming back to Rakhi she claims that she would tie the knot with her prince charming on 2nd of August. The day is not far off. Let’s see if the show turns into a reality or only a “Sansani”.

Rakhi's choice Elesh has showbiz dreams
As Rakhi Sawant
seems to have zeroed in on Elesh Parujanwala to tie the knot on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar new facts are coming to light about the man. The NRI Gujarati has come to India not only to set up some business but has acting dreams too. Elesh who left his family behind as there were no suitable girls for him in Canada is enjoying his first experience with the showbiz world.
In a recent interview Elesh said that although showbiz was a volatile profession if any offer comes his way in the future he will definitely give it a shot. When quizzed about taking part in another reality show he said as long as it doesn't clash with his business interest he was willing to participate. Well if Rakhi doesn't choose him Elesh can definitely participate in someone else's swayamvar
Rakhi Sawants NRI Husband Will Shift To Mumbai After Marriage
Rakhi Sawant, who’s getting married on live TV on August 2, has made it very clear that she wouldn’t be leaving her work behind to join her husband.
Nor, would she like a ghar-damaad kind of house-husband. While she was all set to settle for a long-distance marriage, Toronto-based entrepreneur Elesh Parujanwala has done the next best thing. He has decided to shift base to Mumbai from Toronto.
Speaking from his hideout in Mumbai, Elesh was surprisingly calm and clear-headed about his future plans. “There won’t be any need for a long-distance marriage, or for Rakhi to join me in Toronto. I’ve already shifted a part of my business from Toronto to Mumbai, and I intend to stay put in Mumbai for a very long time.”
Speaking on how a well-to-do Canadian-Indian boy ended up being on a show, where he’s one of Rakhi Sawant’s prospective grooms, Elesh laughed, “At first I was skeptical. In fact I initially expressed my misgivings to the programme’s creators. I didn’t want my children to one day ask me why I married their mom on a game show. But I’m glad I came on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. It isn’t a game, though it may be a show being watched by millions. For Rakhi, and for me, it’s a matter of life and death.”
Elesh says he grew up on a staple diet of Bollywood in Toronto. “I used to watch Rakhi Sawant in her films and her music videos. At that time, I never thought I’d one day be asking her hand for marriage. Life is funny.”
Incidentally, the decision to marry Elesh above the other short-listed candidates came from Rakhi’s brother Ravi Kissan, who apparently reprimanded her strongly for even considering any of the other boys.
Says Ravi, “Elesh always stood out, and I told this to Rakhi. The less said about some of the other contestants, the better. One of them, Manmohan Tiwari had so much attitude; it was almost like he was trying to be small screen’s Ravi Kissan. Sadly the channel encouraged him to behave the way he did, arguing that it enhanced the TRPs. He behaved very badly with Rakhi. He had a girlfriend tucked away all the time. Why was he wooing Rakhi then? I told her, Elesh was the best guy for her.”
Rakhi ditches Manmohan out of Swayamwar
The show host Ram Kapoor asked Rakhi about her experiences with all the four family. She explained that she wanted to get the love and affection of their families before getting their love. She said, "Manas' family was very excited to welcome me at their home. He was even more emotional. Kshitij’s family also treated me very well."
“Even video conference with Elesh’s family was quite interesting. I spoke to them in Gujarati. Elesh was very emotional and confident. He was the only guy, who held my hand in front of their family and said that he wanted to marry me," she added.
Rakhi said that all the three families have treated her equally well and it was very difficult and confusing for her to select her would be. She seemed very angry with Manmohan’s family. Although she did not want to talk about his family, Ram forced her to talk about it.
Rakhi said, “Manmohan left to his native one day earlier than me. He had gathered all his relatives and friends. He put up hoardings of welcome at the gate. His house was fully crowded. I could neither see his house properly nor talk to his family members. More over his family did not treat me well.”
Manmohan argued her, "Like Rakhi, it was a surprising moment for me also. I neither made any arrangement nor invited any of my friends to my home. My friends had arranged everything to surprise me. They were treating me like a politician. I don't to know whom to thank. Rakhi or my friends? Anyway, I will thank Rakhi for getting me free publicity."
"Then go away with your free publicity for which you had come here," Rakhi burst out suddenly and said. "Ram, actually, I wanted to meet Manmohan's girlfriend Anjali to know about their affair. But he did not let me have this chance," she confessed. Manmohan turned violent and said, "We're here to talk about our marriage. Let us try to understand each other. Why are you pulling Anjali in our affair. In the past, you also had affairs. I never asked you about Abhishekh Awasti.
Ram intervened them and tried to soothe them. He drove their attention towards the opinions, which he had collected from the contestant, while they were walking out of the show. Most of the contestants had opined that Manmohan and Elesh were fit and Kshitij and Manas were unfit for Rakhi. Suddenly, the show took a new twist.
Rakhi was asked to give the sweet boxes to the contestants whom she liked for the further test. She turned emotional as well as confused. She said, "I don't want this marriage. I'm walking out of the Swayamwar." She stormed out of the show. For a while, there was lot of confusion on the show.
But Ram went out to her and tried to pacify her. He brought her back to the show. She gave away sweet boxes to Elesh and Kshitij. The third option was left between Manas and Manmohan. She again turned emotional. She was not willing to lose either of them. Finally, she gave the sweet box to Manas and discarded Manmohan. She did not see Manmohan's face. She was really sad for loosing him.
Ram said, "Manmohan, I'm really sorry to say that you are out of the show." He asked whether he would like to say anything to Rakhi at the final moment. He did not say anything instead he preferred to stay silent. Rakhi burst out in tears and said, "All these days, I have loved you and enjoyed with you. You don't want to say anything? Go away. Our relationship has ended here."
"Our relationship has not ended here. It starts from this moment. I really love you. I will always remember you," Manmohan said. Dramatically, Rakhi glowed with a smiling face in the end. She said, "Manmohan, I've rejected you not for any particular reason. But I don't want to cheat your girlfriend Anjali. Even I too love you very much."
However, Manmohan left the show with heavy heart.

Rakhi Ka Swayamvar
However the breaking news is that participants in the Rakhi's Swayamvar were not meant to be from the Agra Mental Hospital initially!! The producers have shortlisted eminent personalities from the various fields to appear as guests in each episode of the show. These special guests would then attempt to woo Rakhi Sawant along side the mental cases who have applied by themselves.

The man invited to be the guest in the first episode is from the Indian Film Industry, Shiney Ahuja. He has tipped many other strong contenders from Bollywood who wanted to be invited. The clincher was his likings for maids.
Another one to appear in their list is from the Cricketing Fraternity. However his age suggests that we should use the word "Paternity" instead of "Fraternity". Its none other than Mohinder Amarnath! After his unsuccessful attempts at learning dancing in programmes like "Jhalak Dikhla Ja", he desperately wants Rakhi's companionship so that he could learn a few thumkas from her.Another Cricketer who as been approached is S. Sreesanth. He is expected to be a perfect fit since he is used to being publicly slapped. Readers would recall that Rakhi had once slapped her earstwhile boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi full public view
But the biggest surprize of the Swayamvar is going to be none other then Sardar ManMohan Singh. He is a perfect fit for becoming Rakhi's husband as he is already habituated to obeying orders received from females.
When the Producers asked Rakhi who she would like to participate in her Swayamvar, they got a big surprise when she mentioned Mika Singh. She said she wanted to teach Mika a lifelong lesson for his earlier mis-demeanor with her.Rakhi's ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi when contacted was found unavailable. He apperantly has been admitted to a hospital recently due to stomach pains. On further enquiries, we came to know that the real reason for this is that he has been laughing incessantly since the show was announced, which resulted in his severe condition. He cannot believe there are so many fools want to get married to Rakhi !!
PS: As you all know, the above article is just a figment of our imagination and nothing mentioned here is real, we still would like to hear your stake on it! ! Who else do you think can come up in this list?? Press the reply button and let us know. .
After Rakhi’s Swayamvar its Mika’s Swayamvadhu
Rakhi Sawant and Mika, well this two names cannot be separated from each other. Now as the drama queen Rakhi is in the process of tying the knot in Rakhi Ka Swyamvar, Mika is taking a dig at her. The pop singer announced this on the sets of Boogie Woogie that he too will get married through a television reality show. Giving a cunning smile he said at least 100-150 girls should be there in his Swayamvadhu.
Mika and Rakhi have been sworn enemies ever since Mika had forcefully kissed during his birthday bash a few years ago. Since then the two have regularly taken digs at each other. Recently when Mika appeared in Salman Khan’s 10 along with brother Daler Mehendi her tried to make fun of her. Salman interrupted and made sure that Mika did not create a controversy on the show. Wonder why Mika didn’t participate in Rakhi Ka Swyamvar altealst the audience would have been saved from another such show.
Are Indian Startup events like Rakhi Ka Swayamvara?

Now lets compare this to the biggest show on Indian television Rakhi Ka Swayamvara on NDTV Imagine, where men wishing to get married to Rakhi have to register themselves with the show. After selecting the 15 grooms of her choice, Rakhi is staying with them under one roof. During this time, she is giving her prospective grooms various tasks to perform. The ones who fail face elimination every week. The final week will see Rakhi marrying the groom of her choice. While millions of viewers are watching the show everyone have doubts in their minds if at all Rakhi will actually marry. There is news that Rakhi Sawant is not going to get married to any of the contestants. The whole thing is a sham. Rakhi is no fool to get married to a reality show contestant. While the speculation is still on this really got me thinking that how similar or different are Indian startup events from the TV Show?
In both cases there are passionate contestants all trying their best to impress their future ‘partner’. In both cases its the long term prospects and not the short-term sexiness which is being considered, in both cases there is a lot of due-diligence going on and finally in both cases there is a lot of trust and mis-trust.
However IMHO one BIG different in both cases is the credibility and track record of Rakhi Sawant and Mr. Venture Capitalist. And I believe that if past data has to be believed that the probability of Rakhi Sawant getting married to the winner far outstrips Mr. Venture Capitalist actually investing in the ‘hot’ startup.
The answer is simple for Rakhi this is about her personal credibility and future trust with her fans and audiences when she agreed to come on the show it was with an explicit intent that she is going to get married to the winner. Not honoring the same will in the future make the people stop trusting her and her word.
Now lets compare this to Mr. VC after many emails and phone calls by the organizers they finally agree to attend the start-up event, almost in all cases they crib about travel outside their home city, they know that they cannot invest in deals less that $5m even though their website say they fund startups, they don’t believe that Indian startups are as matured as silicon valley startups and finally do they really care as they believe that a good startup will ultimately get funding from some angel and they will look at it when they need $10m. Then when do they even attend these events when they really have no intent to fund ?? Simple, its for the free publicity, ego massage and reporting back to HQ in USA that they actively tracking startup space.
So what is my suggestion to organizers to these events ? If you are calling VCs take a $100k escrow-deposit from them which they will commit that they will fund to a startup in next 6 months as as soon as they fund you release that money that’s the only way to make sure that only the ’serious’ one attend. And finally I think its better to call family & friends of each of the startup, angels, people who spend money on social causes, High Net Worth Individuals in partnership with banks who handle premium clients portfolio, Top Government Officials :-) , Senior Banking officials the chance of they putting together $20k- $100k is far higher than Mr. VC and will be able to add far greater value as they will be investing their personal money and not belonging to some pension fund in America!
Finally only time will tell if Rakhi Sawant will marry the winner of the reality show or Mr. VC will fund a startup at proto.in ! my money is on you Rakhi!

Rakhi's suitable boy Elesh has acting dreams!
We get Elesh Parujanwala talking about the show:
What prompted you to take part in ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’?
The fact that the girls in Toronto are very different from the girls in India. They don’t want to invest time in building a relationship. Moreover, I was setting up a new business with a friend in Mumbai for which I have to live in Mumbai for six months in a year. I knew Rakhi before I participated in the show... and that helped. And most importantly, I feel I’m mentally and physically ready to get married.
How was the whole experience on the show? Especially meeting Rakhi in person for the first time?
It was too good to be true. It was just like a fairy tale and I was completely on a roll! I remember when I first went out for a date with Rakhi, she was looking stunning! And the one thing that I kept wondering was, “What is she thinking?”
Has life changed after the show?
I really can’t say because the show is still on. Besides, I haven’t gone out much on the streets since the show has started.
Have you acquired a newfound celebrity status, thanks to all the publicity?
I still feel like a common man.
Who do you think is the strongest contender on the show?
You are talking to him (laughs).
What do you think is your USP?
Sheer confidence and the strong back-up from my family.
If given a chance, would you consider a career in showbiz?
I understand that this (showbiz) is a volatile profession where one day you are at the zenith and the next day you are nowhere. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication, which Rakhi has also put in to reach this far. If an offer comes my way, I am ready to give it a shot!
Would you consider taking part in another reality show?
I might consider it, if it doesn’t conflict with my business and doesn’t keep me away from it for long, as that’s my main objective. And that fact that my partner should be agreeable to the idea of me taking part in a reality show.
What is that one thing that you like most about Rakhi?
Everything!
Rakhi upset with Mahmohan's family
Continuing with her trips to her prospective sasurals, television actress Rakhi Sawant visited the holy town of Rishikesh in Rakhi Ka Swayamvar to meet family members of Manmohan Tiwari. She went around and visited their family temple and also went to see the holy Ganga. Rakhi has a chat with all of Manmohan's relatives and asked some uncomfortable questions to his father like dowry and her career in the glamour world and the lifestyle associated with it.
It may be recalled that when Manmohan’s mother had come on the show Rakhi had got a taste of the orthodox nature of their family. Manmohan's mother had informed Rakhi that she would want the bahu of the house to wear a ghoonghat and sindoor. Rakhi would also have to give up her career in Mumbai and move to Rishikesh where she would be a homemaker.
Interestingly during Rakhi's visit Manmohan's family seemed to have shed some of its orthodox nature as they now see Rakhi as a success ladder for their son. The television drama queen is not a person to be fooled that easily and she clearly understood the motive behind their warm reception. Grapevine has it that off camera she said “In logon ko bahurani nehi naukrani chahiye”(They don't want a daughter-in-law but a servant)

If Rakhi Sawant went on Sach Ka Saamna
If Rakhi Sawant went on Sach Ka Saamna
What would happen if you combined television's hottest new shows Rakhi Ka Swayamvar and Sach Ka Saamna? The reason I'm asking is because often, when I watch Rakhi Sawant on television, I wonder: who exactly is she trying to fool? Don't get me wrong, I'm as addicted to the show as all of you are, but at times the show seems more fiction than non-fiction.
And what about all those contestant-grooms who keep saying they would do anything for Rakhi? Hmm. Now that Sach Ka Saamna has gone on air, I'm sure NDTV Imagine's kicking themselves for not thinking of the idea--they could easily have made all contestants undertake a polygraph test where they had to answer one question honestly to be part of this show: Do you really want to marry Rakhi Sawant?
As for Rakhi Sawant, I can think of lots of questions Sach Ka Saamna host Rajeev Khandelwal could ask her.
Did you think the show would be such a hit?
Were you planning to get married when you started this show?
Now that the show is a hit, have you changed your mind?
Will you actually marry a poor man?
Do you want to have sex with Manmohan Tiwari?
Are those real tears?
Is this the real Rakhi Sawant?
Do you enjoy playing the part of demure bride?
Do you like wearing all these Indian outfits?
Do you find Toronto businessman Elesh Parujanwala boring?
Isn't he the most likely to win because he is wealthy?
Do you think Indian men are boring?
Have you undergone botox treatments for your swayamvar?
Did you know beforehand that the Kashmiri policeman contestant on your show was already married?
Did you drop Luv from the show for shock value?
Is the show rigged?
If your ex-boyfriend Abhishek proposed, would you marry him?
Is he going to come on your show?
Do you think Manas is too young?
etc etc etcMonday, July 20, 2009
Rakhi Sawant to wear Rs.3 mn necklace on swayamvar D-day
Rakhi Sawant surely couldn’t have asked for more. A Rs.30 lakh (Rs. 3 million) necklace designed by Farah Ali Khan, a lehenga-choli wedding dress by celebrity designer Neeta Lulla, a ’swayamvar’ on national television and a grand wedding to be watched by millions across the country.
The former ’item girl’, who has had a rags-to-riches career, will marry on NDTV Imagine’s reality show "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" soon. She will choose her "perfect man" from among nine grooms who have come from cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Rishikesh, Jaipur and Kanpur and even from places as far off as Toronto.
National award winning designer Neeta Lulla, who is one of Aishwarya Rai’s favourite designers, and ace jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali have been roped in to help Rakhi look her best on her D-day. And the two are doing every bit they can to fulfil the bride-to-be’s wish to look like a "princess" that special day.
"Rakhi told us she wants to look like a princess that day - something like she has never looked before. I have given her a very colourful ensemble - it’s a very conservative outfit," Lulla told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
"For her wedding day, Rakhi would be wearing a lehenga-choli in five different colours with ornate kundan work to give her an ethnic Rajasthani look," said Lulla, who has designed Aishwarya’s clothes in movies like "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", "Devdas" and more recently "Jodhaa Akbar".
To complement her outfit, Rakhi will be donning traditional Indian jadau jewellery designed by Farah Ali Khan, the daughter of yesteryears actor Sanjay Khan and well-known interior designer Zarine Khan.
"The choker that Rakhi will be wearing for her wedding day is very heavy. It looks very traditional and covers almost her entire neck," she said.
According to Khan, the choker costs approximately Rs.3 million.
However, Lulla has refused to divulge the price tag of her outfit.
The two designers are not only putting their creative instincts together for Rakhi’s wedding day but also for the sangeet and mehendi (pre-wedding) ceremonies.
For the sangeet, Rakhi decided to opt for an Indo-Western look in blue. Lulla says it is a very contemporary outfit. To match the dress, Khan has given her an elaborate diamond neck piece, which also costs around Rs.3 million.
If both the designers are to be believed, Rakhi was extremely "accomodating" to their suggestions but gave her inputs as well.
"Rakhi told me that her earrings shouldn’t be very heavy so that she can dance freely. She also said that I should design ornaments which don’t break," said Khan.
If this wasn’t enough, model-turned-fashion co-ordinator Marc Robinson has also been roped in to groom Rakhi’s prospective grooms, who are vying to marry the former item girl through the reality show.
Rakhi’s wedding will take place as soon as she zeroes in on an eligible bachelor for herself on NDTV Imagine’s show "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" - a move that has left a lot of people in tinsel town shocked.
Rakhi Sawant, Reality TV personality
Rakhi believes the reduction in excise duties on small cars and two-wheelers is a good thing. "But the government will have to face the consequences with more polluted cities and damage to infrastructure."
When we told her about the duty raise on non-filter cigarettes, she said,"They should be banned!" She feels these should be made so expensive that people will stop smoking altogether!
The cellphone provision (excise duty has been raised) doesn't bother Rakhi. "I get my cellphones, free of charge." Lucky Rakhi, her pals keep gifting her cellphones, she claims!
We also heard her telling her co-stars, "Bahut achcha budget hai!" She feels that the raise in basic exemption limit on Income Tax is the best thing the government has done for Indian women today. She says, "The law isn’t doing much for the Indian women. This is the least they could do."
Speaking about the new tax slab, Rakhi adds, "It is a good thing for the folks in my industry. But I think the common man should be exempted from any sort of income tax."
Rakhi Sawant visits her sasural's
Manas Katyal, Chittiz Jain, Elesh Parujanwala and Manmohan Tiwari in the final race to win Rakhi’s heart. Rakhi visits their respective houses to get close to their family and friends. The countdown has finally begun...the journey that began with sixteen prospective grooms has now culminated to the final four. All eyes are now glued to the bride-to-be Rakhi Sawant, who will now set out on a journey to the hometowns of the final four grooms she has short-listed. Join Rakhi as she visits the families and friends of her prospective grooms in order to get an insight into their lives. This Monday onwards Rakhi will visit the homes of Chittiz and Manas in New Delhi, Manmohan in Rishikesh and interact with Elesh’s family from Toronto.
Rakhi’s voyage begins in New Delhi, where she spends some quality time with the families of Chittiz and Manas. Rakhi tries to impress the Katyal family with some finger licking Suji Ka Halwa that she cooked, while she impresses Chittiz by bonding with his adorable nephew and niece. While North Campus lad Manas took Rakhi for a Dilli Darshan at places like the Qutub Minar and India Gate, Panchsheel resident Chittiz took Rakhi to the school he had studied.
After a hearty reception in New Delhi, Rakhi heads to Rishikesh, where the Tiwari family welcomes her. The entire neighborhood was overjoyed and excited to catch a glimpse of the Tiwari family’s would-be Bahu. Like any traditional mother in law, Manmohan’s mother scrutinized Rakhi right from her culinary skills to household chores to respecting the family values and traditions. As Manmohan had promised her, he took her to visit his deity Ganga Maiyya, where they also performed an Aarti, one of the most auspicious and once in a lifetime moment.
As Elesh was new to Mumbai , Rakhi promised him that she would take him out instead. They went out for a movie, had fun at a gaming zone, and spent some romantic moments with each other at the beach. On meeting her prospective in-laws Rakhi said, “A surprise visit to their hometowns gave me an opportunity to know them even better, and get acquainted with their lifestyles and cultures that they have grown up in. Their parents made me feel like a close member of their family.”
Is Mika coming to ‘Rakhi ka Swayamvar'?
The show has gained popularity, in order to see the bindaas babe Rakhi choosing her groom from the men who have even globe trotted to make her their dream bride. It has increased even more by the speculation of Mika joining the ‘groom wagon' even if inappropriately said so.
Mika and Rakhi create ripples whenever they are mentioned in regard to each other. They shared the limelight for the kiss that was given by Mika on his birthday bash post which Rakhi left the party fuming and abusing Mika for such bad behaviour. Since then it's been like cats and dogs between them.
The rumour if to be believed, Mika will be trying to woo Rakhi on the sets of ‘RKS'. The episode will definitely be worth watching if he does come on the show.

Rakhi visit to check out the family of contestants( Manas Katyal )
Manas Katyal, 22, is one of the few contenders for Sawant's heart and hand on the reality show where she hunts for her husband. Katyal's home was suddenly swarming with friends and relatives, eager to catch a glimpse of his could-be star wife. "I'm very confident she's going to pick me," said Katyal, standing alongside his banker parents who were ready with the traditional arti to welcome Sawant. Katyal's sister Mannat was there holding a bouquet. The neighbours chipped in by dancing wildly to the dhol, when Sawant finally emerged from a Honda City, resplendent and every bit the blushing bride in a green sari and chunky jewellery.
Katyal graduated in engineering from Rohtak University last year and is currently working as an events' producer in Mumbai. "I went through many grilling sessions to get here," said Katyal, referring to the questions Sawant asks the men on the show. His grandmother, meanwhile, was all smiles when questioned about the girl. "Rakhi seems nice. I hope she fits in with us," said Bansi Devi, 75. Other members of the family seemed equally enthusiastic. The mom-in-law-might-be had no qualms about Sawant. "She is older than my son but I don't care as Lord Krishna and Radha's match was also similar," said Suman Katyal. Now the big question is will Manas be Rakhi's Mr Right?
Rakhi will not tie the knot in Rakhi Ka Swayamvar
On last Saturday a popular newschannel, News 24 did a sting operation on NDTV Imagine’s reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar. With hidden cameras they met two booted out contestants from the show who candidly revealed all the embarrassing facts regarding the show. One contestant from Kashmir who is a Police constable by profession even revealed that the makers knew he was married and had three kids yet they made him participate on the show.
But if our sources are to be trusted then there are more shocking facts lined up ahead. Our source claims, “Rakhi Sawant is not going to get married to any of the contestants. The whole thing is a sham. Rakhi is no fool to get married to a reality show contestant. One can recollect her ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi has been a reality show contestant as well. He was a product of Zee's Cinestars Ki Khoj. She has time and again spoken about her bad experience about getting in a relationship with a nobody like him who used her for financial benefits."
He further reveals, “When the show reaches its grand finale time and Rakhi finally gets down to making her final choice amongst the last remaining contestants, the makers of the show will be giving the contestants an option of either choosing big money or Rakhi. The guys will opt for the money bag over Rakhi.”
“This will be revealed to Rakhi and the drama queen that she is will throw a fit and express her disappointment and disqualify them. So finally that’s how she will still remain unmarried on the show. If the TRPs go on to increase till the show finale, then a season 2 cannot be ruled out.” concludes our source.
Another source reveals, “Such a show was originally being planned with Bobby Darling but that was for another TV Channel. The makers however chickened out at the last minute to go ahead getting worried about the backlash.”
We then wonder why all this tamasha of getting in celebrities on each episode and making the contestants perform silly tasks. Then you also have special time dedicated to Rakhi venting out all her vent up frustrations about her personal life. Sorry boss it is not entertainment. But well like a senior actor reveals, “In TV nowadays there is only one mantra – ‘TRPs ke liye kuch bhi karega and after all Rakhi too is benefiting from the show by not just the means of good money but also so much screen time dedicated to her dressed in the best of the costumes.”

Rakhi Ko Ghussa Kyu Aaya........??
She publicly admits having a very close relationship with Abhishek Awasthi.
But no one till now has asked the tough questions on the show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar.
Most guys tend to skip tough questions pretending to be not concerned about them.
But the fact remains, no Indian family would want to have a daughter in law with a shady past.
If we are to believe the preview shown today on NDTV Imagine, Ashwin Chaudhuri finally goes ahead and ask some tough questions from Rakhi Sawant.
He asks about Abhishek. Rakhi responds that they were once a couple.
Chaudhuri responds with a bouncer… What about physical relationship
Nothing much was revealed except for the ‘serious’ look given by Rakhi Sawant as if she was offended by the question.

Mockery of Marriage
There are many varied opinions on this curious step taken by the ‘Queen of Controversies’.
However, the fact that the show has generated immense interest and is a hit with all age - groups is indisputable.
While some say this is a mere publicity stunt, others feel it’s much more than just that and cannot be dismissed off hand.
ASTRO-NUMEROLOGIST SANDHIYA MEHTA: “RAKHI SAWANT’S SWAYAMVAR IS FAKE”
Speaking to this journalist, Sandhiya Mehta who has counseled some of the country’s top politicos like Narendra Modi, businessmen and even scientists opined that according to her research and calculations, Rakhi Sawant will find some way to ‘get out of the show without marrying anyone.’ “In the very slim chance that a marriage does happen, it would be a sham ceremony and will not last more than a few months. My intuition and foresight says that a secret clause in the Terms and Conditions of the show will enable Rakhi to walk away without tying the knot with anyone.”
Elaborating on this further, Sandhiya Mehta says, “Rakhi will make a hue and cry about not finding Mr Right. She will weep and tear her hair. All for effect on the screen. There will be a super climax which may be completely unexpected and may take the audience by surprise. But it will definitely NOT include Rakhi getting married to anyone.”
Rakhi Sawant's swayamvar is fixed
Rakhi Sawant is certainly not the saccharine Yash Raj heroine she is modelling herself on in the new NDTV Imagine show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. On this show, which promises it will end with Rakhi's marriage, the actress talks super politely to the men who've been handpicked from among 12,000 suitors by NDTV Imagine and Sol Productions. Here's what I wrote in Lounge.
Her strange behaviour, it seems, was enough incentive to attract the paparazzi hounds who began sniffing around in Kashmir after contestant Ather Parvez was kicked out of the show when it turned out that he was a married man who had come on the show with his wife's blessings.
Now, Parvez says in a sting operation on E24 (a channel I never watch; I swear I was just surfing after a hard day's work) that the channel, the production house and Rakhi knew that he was married. He allegedly says the producers met his wife and kids and they said that the channel would tell him when to reveal the truth!
To repeated cries of suna aapne! (what joy tabloid television is), the channel cleverly juxtaposes an unrelated shot of Rakhi slapping her ex on a previous occasion because he pissed her off (see video here) and asks the question: How could the same Rakhi react so calmly to a contestant telling her that he was married?
Who knows what really goes on behind India's so called reality shows? The channel was very guarded publicity and reporters sitting in on the screening process; it only organized one very controlled, group visit for journalists to meet Rakhi on the set.
I'm not picking sides. You guys can decide who's lying, who's not and whether you even care. Meanwhile, The Indian Express even did a short piece on Parvez speaking to his brother and colleague--please note that the country's leading investigative newspaper didn't find out that this policeman from Kashmir was married.
Rakhi Sawant, claims to be ‘used’ & cheat by her Ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi
Rakhi Sawant, an all time drama queen who has also done masters in controversial stunts is in frame with her new statement in which she claims to be ‘used’ by her Ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi.
She admits that her relation broke – up was an intentional step for kicking out Abhishek from her life.
The reason she gives as, “ He ‘used’ me as a stepping stone towards his success and getting base for giving momentum to his choreography career.”
She also reveals that Abhishek tied the relation only for using her contacts to set his career in the industry where actually newcomers with no jacks are never welcomed.
She calls him a selfish man. Once the cake is baked, he dumped her and developed a relation with Shradha Sharma.
But the fact is, a coin always has two faces and its significance can never be denied.
The story takes a U turn from Abhishek’s gallery, whether it was when she was in Big Boss or when she wanted a choreographer to teach her the nuances of Bollywood dancing at the last minute.
The couple used their personal relationship to gain media and audience sympathy time and again over the last two years.
“Both used each other to get publicity and work”. They were the perfect ‘nautanki’ couple.
An event and celebrity manager who knew the couple since they started working together said that problems between the two started during the “Yeh hein Jalwa” show on channel 9X.
Rakhi and Abhishek were pitted against each other in two different teams.
Rakhi expected her beau to “loose” but Abhishek wouldn’t let down his team and gave Rakhi’s team a fight to the finish.
That’s when all hell broke loose. Apparently Rakhi was miffed that Abhishek wouldn’t tell him strategies that his team was using. Rakhi accused Abhishek of having “changed”.
Yes he was no longer the ’spot boy choreographer’.
He had emerged into his own propelled by his talent and skills. Rakhi of course didn’t like this.
Well, Rakhi should handover her regards and thanks to her televised Swayamvar that is currently going on on NDTV Imagine, as she might get her so called ‘true love in the show.
Rakhi Sawant chaniya-choli in Bardoli
Item girl Rakhi Sawant loves to be in controversies. Recently she was seen in a mini skirt and a short top at a garba event organized by Pancham Group at Helipad Ground in Bardoli. After all the previous protests, Rakhi Sawant had agreed to perform in a traditional chaniya-choli in Bardoli.
But the moment she stepped on the stage, the audience yelled, ‘Mika, Mika.’ She took the microphone and said, “Mika ko maro goli, garba enjoy karo. Garba mein mazaa nahin aata toh mujhe dekh kar enjoy karo.”
Following the protests police had to wrap up the program before its scheduled time. Speaking to the press Rakhi explain that she likes Gujaratis and their tradition. There were many people of which some loved her dance and some did not.
Inspector Chawda, who wrapped the event, explained that they had warned the organizer, Prashant Parmar, to be careful of her dress, otherwise they will have to face the consequences.
However Parmar explained that there wasn’t any obscenity in her dance. She performed on regional and Western numbers.
Rakhi Sawant tells Salman Khan Marry me
Rakhi also produced a ring after asking Salman to marry her, according to a press statement.
During the finale of the "Nach Baliye 3" dance reality show last year, when Salman was the chief guest, Rakhi had walked away from the sets in a huff.
Rakhi had lost to Sanjeeda Sheikh and Aamir Ali in the show and stormed off the stage with her beau Abhishek Awasthi in tow. Even though Salman followed her to pacify her, she snubbed him and drove off in her car.
Salman was apparently miffed with her after that. But considering that she was invited to his show, Salman seems to have forgiven the controversy queen.
Rakhi was on the show with comedian Shakeel Siddiqui to play the game. Two other celebrities, actors Rani Mukerji and Lara Dutta also graced the show, which will be telecast Sep 14 at 8 p.m. on Sony Entertainment Television.
Rakhi Sawant slaps boyfriend on V-Day
On a day when lovers express their feelings, drama queen Rakhi Sawant humiliated her boyfriend in front of media cameras.
Just three days before, Rakhi had kicked her boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi out of her Oshiwara house after a bitter spat in which Abhishek reportedly called her dirty names that Rakhi did not like much.
Now, on Valentine’s Day Abhishek went to Rakhi’s house with a bouquet of red roses and a teddy bear to apologize, reconcile, and be with her again.
On his visit, Abhishek also invited mediapersons with him to make his reconciliation public. But what he got in return from Rakhi was humiliation.
Initially, Rakhi was surprised to see Abhishek at her doorstep with mediapersons. But when Abhishek apologized and presented her the bouquet, Rakhi got angry and slapped him hard in front of TV cameras.
But Abhishek was not to be daunted. He got on his knees and begged her for forgiveness. Rakhi did not relent and asked the security personnel of her building to throw Abhishek out.
When security did not intervene and Abhishek did not budge, Rakhi relented and asked Abhishek to apologize in Marathi and swear on his mother (maa ki kasam) that he won’t repeat his actions again.
Poor Abhishek did what he was told and reconciliation looked possible between estranged lovers.

Rakhi Sawant Controversy 2
The old problem had not even cooled down, she got herself once again into new controversy.
She was seen in a mini skirt and a short top at a garba event organized by Pancham Group at Helipad Ground in Bardoli.
Inspector Chawda, who wrapped the event, explained that they had warned the organizer, Prashant Parmar, to be careful of her dress, otherwise they will have to face the consequences.
Reacting to the incident she said;
It’s all unnecessary controversy. I am hot and sexy. Whatever I wear I look hot. Even if I wear a sari, people will still have a problem because I look hot in sari too. If I have worn a nurse’s dress and I am looking sexy, I think I have done the right kind of role. Let people feel jealous about it. I don’t care at all. Very soon they will realize what Rakhi Sawant is…
The Rakhi Sawant Controversy again
The Rakhi Sawant Controversy and the attack of the Liberalist Clowns
Rakhi Sawant has almost monopolised all the controversies from tinsel town of late. She had a case booked against her for obscenity by the Police in Kolhapur, Maharashtra and before that could die down she got involved in another one with that Party smooching thing with Mika. She is also reportedly been banned in Dubai after a similar on stage incident there.
But what i find more amusing is the antics of the Liberal extremists who caught in their web of Political correctness cannot or are not willing to make a clear distinction between a shameless slut like Rakhi Sawant and ordinary women who in their day to day lives have to endure eve-teasing, sexual assualts, domestic violence, dowry crimes etc… These are the women whose plight should occupy the conscience of our Shameless, sensationalist Media, our Commie numbed intellectuals and ofcourse the National Commission for Women.
They should have dismissed the shameless publicity stunts of the elite class Mika and Rakhi. But then that is not what happened. We had our Media salivating over this incident and trying to cash in as much as possible. We had our intellectuals pontificating endlesslessly in TV shows, newspapers, magazines, internet etc… with helpful doses of the clip and the stills and feeling important now that they have shared their “wisdom” with the rest of the country(sic!) and to top it all the NCW filled with feminist nuts who deciding that this incident needed their “wise” input, declared that Mika was guilty ignoring the fact that Rakhi was until then rubbing herself all over Mika before the said incident happened. Mika would not have dared touch her if she had behaved herself. There were many other girls around who were even more skimpily clad but did any of the men there dare touch them or try doing anything inappropriate?
Yes that is the reputation Ms Rakhi Sawant has built for herself. A reputation which made her parents to disown her and any man like Mika or the member of the crowd in Dubai to feel that he can do whatever he wants with her. This is the harsh truth and simple common sense which is missing with our rotten “intellectual” class and firebrand feminists.
My two cents advice to them. There are millions of women in the country who are suffering and are being exploited and mistreated by their own families, relatives etc… Eve teasing is still a very big problem in our cities and so are sexual assaults, domestic violence, dowry abuses etc… so please save your sympathy and attention for the really needy women who don’t have a voice and are often denied justice and not for shameless people like Rakhi, Mika etc…
Rakhi Sawant and controversies
Rakhi Sawant and controversies are inseperable. In fact you may go so far as to say, that hadn’t it been for her controversies, Rakhi Sawant wouldn’t have been able to survive and get noticed in the Bollywood industry.
From acting in B-grade Bollywood movies, to the item-girl of Bollywood blockbusters, to the Big Boss reality show and to Koffee with Karan. Rakhi Sawant has come a long way. And had it not been for her numerous controversies, I do not feel Rakhi would have been able to make it.

And now, the item girl is in the middle of another controversy for hurting religious sentiments of Buddhists.
In a television show, Rakhi Ki Raisi, that was aired on April 28, viewers were given a glimpse into her lavish and ostentatious lifestyle. While taking the TV crew around the house, Rakhi also took them to her bathroom, where she had kept a statuette of Buddha. A section of viewers in Amravati took strong objection to this, tagging it an “insulting” gesture.
On Monday, a large number of Dalits led by Dilip Edatkar and Dadasaheb Kshirsagar staged demonstrations against Rakhi at the district collectorate. The demonstrators tore and burnt her effigy and posters and hit placards of her pictures with shoes and slippers.
According to sources, Mahesh Tayade of Dalit Panthers lodged a complaint against Rakhi with Frezarpura police station. In his complaint, Tayade stated that by keeping a statuette of Lord Buddha in her bathroom, Rakhi has hurt the religious sentiments of the community and she must seek public apology.
A case was also been registered against Rakhi in the Amaravati district of Maharashtra for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Buddhists.
The case was filed under Section 295 of the Indian Penal Code for intending to insult a religion.
According to media reports the police has still not taken any action.
